A Vintage Parker Knoll Model 1028 ‘Statesman - JAMES BOND’ swivel lounge chair, the so-called ‘Blofeld’ chair, circa 1960s/70s, the distinctive broad winged and deeply buttoned high back with padded headrest above shaped enclosed arms and loose buttoned seat cushion, upholstered in beige fabric and raised on a five-point stained timber swivel base, retaining Parker Knoll manufacturer's label beneath.
This distinctive Parker Knoll design has become widely known among collectors and auctioneers as the ‘Blofeld’ chair, on account of its resemblance to the imposing high-backed swivel chairs associated with Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the James Bond films. (SUPER VILLIAN AND CAT NOT INCLUDED)
